FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Parking is available at the Family Camp Beach. Please follow signs and allow distancing between vehicles other athletes. Your temperature will be taken.

You will need:

  • State I.D. and USAT Card (members only)

Parking is available from the Conference Center Entrance (Left off Ossipee Lake Rd if coming from Rt. 41). Please follow the signs. The parking is approximately ¼ mile from packet pick-up & transition. Equipment drop off (15-minute parking) is available at the Camp Beach.

Self-body mark at home before entering transition – top of left hand & swim cap (both sides) with race number – left calf with age as of Dec. 31st. Use a black marker.

Enter the transition area at bike in and exit at run out.

Before entering transition have bike and helmet stickers affixed. Swim cap and body marking completed.

Please be aware of time schedule

Aid Stations (Sprint run (1) & Olympic run (2) bike (1) & run (3)) will be self-service. Carry appropriate hydration & nutrition.

  • Custom Finishers Award
  • Post Race Brunch / lunch
 

Athlete, spectator and volunteer safety is very important to Tri Tek Events. We are asking that all spectators be aware of competing athletes and allow a clear roadway for the athletes. We are asking family and friends interested in being a part of the day to volunteer.

YES, You MUST HAVE a photo ID ready to present to the registration person. USAT Members must bring their ID card.

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PICK UP A RACE PACKET FOR ANYONE BUT YOURSELF AND ALL ATHLETES MUST PRESENT A PHOTO ID… NO ID, NO RACE, NO EXCEPTIONS. ALL MEMBERS OF A RELAY TEAM MUST REPORT IN TOGETHER

The Pre race zoom meeting scheduled for Monday (8/23) at 7:00pm is not mandatory. It is strongly suggested that you attend or make time to view the recording.

Live Free & Tri will be hosted by Camp Calumet, 1090 Ossipee Lake Road, Freedom, NH 03836. The Swim start is in Ossipee lake.

A partial refund will be made of 40%, if requested, in writing on or before June 30th, 2023. After this date, no refunds, no exceptions. No entry transfers.

Top 3 Male / Female Sprint, Olympic & Long Course Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquabike (Individual & Relay) will be awarded. Standard USA Triathlon age divisions in five year increments (e.g. 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc.). Your age group is determined by your age on December 31, 2021. Top 3 Male / Female Clydesdale (Men, 220+ lbs) and Athena (Women, 165+ lbs) division for all distances will also be awarded.

Out of respect for all of the award winners, you must be present to receive your award. No awards will be mailed.

Sprint / Olympic Distance: Athletes must complete the swim by 9:00am, the bike course by 10:30am and the the run course by 12:00 noon. Event management reserves the right to withdraw athletes from the course that have gone past these cut-off times.

Long Course Distance: Athletes must complete the swim by 9:00am, the bike course by 12:45pm and the the run course by 3:00pm. Event management reserves the right to withdraw athletes from the course that have gone past these cut-off times.

USA Triathlon rules will apply. Please review the rules at USATriathlon.org. There will be USAT Officials present at the event. Three areas of common violations are (1) Drafting, (2) Blocking and (3) Centerline. To avoid drafting violations you must stay at least 3 bike lengths behind the competitor in front of you. When attempting to pass you must do so within 15 seconds. Blocking violations are assessed for failing to ride to the right (except when passing). Centerline violations are incurred when cyclists cross the yellow centerline of the road. HELMETS ARE REQUIRED. Chin strap must be buckled at ALL times you are on the bike even in the transition area. Handlebars/aerobars must have bar-end plugs securely inserted into the bar. Taping over bar ends is not permitted. Lack of bar end plugs will result in disqualification.
